 CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

Ed is a Certified Financial Planner® professional.  With over 50 years of experience helping people with finances, Ed has served as a CPA with Ernst and Ernst, as a tenured accounting instructor for the University of Hawaii and has worked directly in financial services since 1986.  Ed’s experience also includes the purchase, operation and profitable sale of his own business.  Ed believes that education is the key, so that clients have confidence with their comprehensive financial plan.

Ed provides key supervision and assistance to each of the advisors who provide customized investment, tax, risk management and estate planning strategies.  He has gained tremendous experience through the navigation of sophisticated tax strategies and uses that experience to guide his advisors, and their clients, to help maximize opportunities and avoid costly mistakes.

The combined experience of our team makes us a good choice for business owners, non-profit organizations, and individuals to implement plans using the same types of programs and approaches as large institutions.  His education-first philosophy provides his advisors the avenue to help clients pursue their life goals while feeling confident in their decision-making.

Outside the office, Ed and his wife Betty have written a number one bestselling book titled Passionate Parent Passionate Couple  (view a highlight of the book as discussed on Living Local®).  Additionally, he enjoys spending time with his nine grandchildren - especially attending their many special events.

He lives his life and runs his business based on one of his favorite Bible passages 1 Peter 5:7

“Just as shepherds watch over their sheep, you must watch over everyone that God has placed in your care.  Do it willingly in order to please God, and not simply because you think you must.  Let it be something you want to do, instead of something you do merely to make money.  Don’t be bossy to those people who are in your care, but set an example for them.  Be humble in the presence of God’s mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes.  God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.”

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
